Welcome to our story of inspiring and building community through creative practices, while reducing textile waste and its impact on our environment.

Stitch Kitchen is a living story of gathering friends together around the table, sharing ingredients, ideas, skills, and time, to nurture ourselves and our community.

We have all the ingredients to help you reach your creative goals!

Add your own flavour to the creative mix in our community sewing studio , located in central Dunedin, in the lower South Island of New Zealand.

Located within our studio, our Maker's Pantry is fully stocked with all the ingredients you need for your next creative project. Plus we have an inspiring collection of upcycled products for you, supporting local makers in our community.

Studio Hire

Bring your own favourite flavours and enjoy the creative mix at our sewing studio. Our fully equiped, versatile space is available to book for casual use during out open hours, and for private hire for whatever creative ideas you dream of cooking up!

Sewing Classes

From how to sew on a button, to how to design your own custom pattern, we have a wide range of classes for all ages and skill levels. Choose from our regular classes, get friends together for a fun custom sewing class, or book some quality one-on-one time with our friendly tutors.

From one-off casual volunteering, to weekly sessions, volunteering with us is a great way to meet new friends, learn new skills, and contribute to making a brighter future for our community.

Stitch Kitchen is a registered charity, made possible with the generous support of our funding partners:
