Fashion Revolution Panel
ID Dunedin Fashion Week
On April 24th 2013, 1133 people were killed when the Rana Plaza factory complex collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This event brought the world’s attention to the unsustainable and unethical practices in the fashion industry.
Fashion is a force to be reckoned with. It inspires, provokes, leads and entertains. Fashion Revolution is a global movement to help fashion become even more. Fashion Revolution is turning fashion into a force for good with one simple question: 'Who Made My Clothes?' We’re asking everyone who’s taking part in Fashion Revolution Day to be curious, find out, and do something about it.
On the anniversary of the Rana Plaza Disaster, an expert panel will discuss contemporary ethical and sustainable fashion initiatives to put people, purpose, and planet ahead of profit. Panel will be chaired by Simon Swale of Otago Polytechnic School of Design and feature local industry innovators.
